I am somewhat of a lip balm fiend. It's a mixture of having both incredibly chapped lips and an interest in things that smell good (which, if you happen to notice, all of these do). Now, being obsessed with lip balms as I am, I have gone through quite a few of them in my time (*scoffs at all those tumblr posts complaining about never finishing a chapstick... amateurs*). So here, I've compiled my current favorite six of the bunch:
Best smell: The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Lip Butter: Again, all of these balms smell good. But this particular lip butter is one that I bought purely because I took one whiff of it in Ulta a year ago and still cannot stop smelling it. Ever. One thing that'a bit annoying about this one is its propensity to dry out rather quickly. But, it's pretty cheap and did I mention how good it smells?
Most unnoticeable/fast absorbing: EOS Lip Balm (vanilla): The vanilla one was limited edition around Christmas time, I think, so the link leads to my second favorite scent. This lip balm, besides having very cute packaging, is great for a very quick fix and doesn't really cause your lips to shine at all. For any men out there who are very self conscious about those shiny balm-lips, this one may be for you.
Best tinted: Maybelline Baby Lips (Cherry Me)/ Fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Balm: This one had to be a tie because I honestly love both of these balms so much. They have very similar shades (sheer reds, big surprise), but I would say that the Maybelline has more color payoff whilst the Fresh is much more hydrating. Bonus: "Cherry Me" smells like candy!)
Best lip butter: Nivea Lip Butter (Vanilla and Macadamia Kiss): This butter is great and really hydrating. It really tends to stick around on your lips, so it's a good one for nighttime use or for applying right in the morning if you don't plan on wearing any lip color. This version smells amazing, as do all the other scents (I may or may not own them all...)
Best Overall: Dior Creme de Rose Lip Balm: I couldn't make a post about lip balm and not put this one on the throne because it is the best. lip. balm. ever. It's so creamy and moisturizing (without being sticky at all) and smells delicious (just like a bouquet of roses- ahh). I prefer it for nighttime use than daytime, just due to how incredibly moisturizing it is. At 28 dollars for a quarter of an ounce, it's a little extravagant... but so worth it.
Well, there we go. Never thought I would take an hour out of my life gushing over lip balms, but there's a first for everything, right?
What are your favorite lip products?

I love the Nivea lip butters! My lips are always dry too, lol. Great post! :D
